Bromsgrove & District Amateur Radio Club is an established group where like-minded individuals meet to learn, share ideas, socialise and operate the club’s outstanding radio equipment and antenna system.
Founded in 1965, Bromsgrove & District Amateur Radio Club (BDARC) has welcomed licensed radio amateurs, those wishing to become licensed and persons with a general interest in radio. The Club offers a safe, friendly and welcoming environment for people of all ages, backgrounds and ability. BDARC is fortunate to benefit from its own fully operational radio installation with an antenna system that most of us could only dream of owning and is available for use by members 24 hours a day. The Club also operates field days, special event stations and has groups that attend amateur radio events across the country. Along with the physical equipment comes a wealth of knowledge and expertise amongst members allowing the club to deliver high quality training and exams at all levels to those new to the hobby and others wishing to advance. Please carry on reading to learn more about our group, our hobby and the warm welcome that awaits you at our weekly meetings.
Main Club Night:
Every Friday from 20:00 onwards.
Our main club night is always a well attended event with regular speakers from within and outside of the Club. These evenings are also used to plan special event stations, dicuss technical and not-so-technical matters and operate the Club’s radio equipment.
A charge of £2.50 towards the cost of room hire is payable each week. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available free of charge. All are most welcome to attend.
The building is all on one level, is accessible by a ramp and has an accessible toilet. Disabled parking spaces are available.
Coffee Morning:
Every Wednesday from 10:30 onwards.
A small group meets during the week in the club’s permanent shack to operate the club’s radio equipment, socialise and even udertake the odd technical experimentation! Tea and coffee is available, we just ask for a contribution towards this. Space is limited at this meeting, but all are welcome.
The Club shack is all on the ground floor and access to it outside of the main Friday evening is along a very short gravel pathway with a single, small step into the building. Assistance will always be available from other members.
